Have ready

  • A payment method for the R2 checkout flow. · R2 must be purchased (subscription added through checkout) before any API token can be made, even to stay on the free tier. [2]Needed for: Add the R2 subscription

Steps

Steps marked “human step” are ones only you can do: verapli never signs in, submits, pays or accepts terms for you.

  1. Add the R2 subscription

In the dashboard go to Storage & databases, R2, Overview and complete the checkout flow to add R2 to the account.

    • Guided by hand
    • Human step: You add payment details

    Where: https://dash.cloudflare.com/

  2. Create a bucket

Create the bucket in the dashboard or with Wrangler. If a jurisdiction (for example EU) is chosen, the bucket needs the jurisdiction-specific S3 endpoint.

    • Guided by hand
    • Human step: You press submit
    • After: Add the R2 subscription
  3. Create an R2 API token

In R2 Overview, Account Details, choose Manage next to API Tokens, create an account or user token, pick the least permission (Object Read & Write scoped to the bucket is usual for an app), and create it. verapli captures the Access Key ID and the Secret Access Key, which is shown once.

    • verapli co-pilot
    • Human step: You press submit
    • After: Create a bucket

verapli captures R2_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY here by plain code: encrypted in your browser, never shown to AI.
